If the sometimes complex method of bra sizing and ensuring the ‘perfect fit’ gets your knickers in a twist - don’t panic, you can untwist them and get to grips with your perfect size and fit using the Thursdays Bra-ometer! Please note that this is just a guideline, and for optimal results you should visit your nearest lingerie store to get professionally measured. Before measuring:
You will need a soft, tailors measuring tape, using the inch side of the measuring tape. We suggest that you put on your best fitting, non-padded bra.
Step 1: Measure your band size
With your bra on, measure firmly around your rib cage, directly underneath your breasts. The tape measure should be horizontal around your body and should not drop in the back. This is your underbust or band measurement.
Step 2: Measure your cup size
Wrap the measuring tape somewhat loosely around the fullest part of your chest (at nipple level). This is best done while you are wearing a bra (non-padded). Make sure the tape measure is straight across your back, and sits parallel to the floor all the way around your body. Round to the nearest whole number in inches.
