A little bit about Thursdays!
We are a proudly African start-up and are launching our first, structured swimwear line this October. So, toss away your granny-bras and frumpy swimwear, because we are bringing you beautiful swimwear at affordable prices. With sizes ranging from B cups to F cups, Thursdays Swimwear is designed with support front of mind. Did you know that, in South Africa, over 1.5 million women wear bras that are over a C cup in size? Unfortunately, most of these women are not properly supported, in any sense of the word!
Why Thursdays is Unique?
‘As a teen, I was one of those girls who would put myself down because I didn’t fit into the traditional mould. Instead of celebrating my developing curves, as one should be able to do when blessed with a buxom bosom, I focused on the fact that I was not able to wear the cool bras and swimwear that my smaller-chested friends were flaunting. As I matured, I realised that there are many other beautiful women in our country who experience negative feelings about their bodies, due to the fact that their needs are not addressed by the mass clothing market. So, one fine Thursday, Thursdays Lingerie and Swimwear was born. What sets us apart from other swimwear ranges is that we sell our swimwear according to bra size. What’s more, our bikini tops and bottoms are available as separates. All tops are made with underwire support and moulded cups to give you the perfect round shape. Our bottoms give you more bang-for-your-buck, as they are more forgiving along the hipline than our Brazilian counterparts. Our models have expressed to us that they feel like they can run in our bikinis! It’s time to say bye-bye to awkward nip-slips, and hello to competitive bat and ball!
